Explosives seized in UP's Sonebhadra

About 26 kg of ammonium nitrate explosive and detonators were seized by police and one person arrested in this connection in Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh .

Acting on a tip off, police arrested Ram Narain from Sukrat township and seized 26.5 kg of ammonium nitrate and 20 electronic detonators from his possession, a home department spokesman said here.

During interrogation, Ram Narain claimed that he had brought the explosives from Bihar for blasting stones, the spokesman said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigations are on.

Sonebhadra is a Naxal affected district.
