Police today busted a fake currency racket and arrested four persons, including two minors, from different places here.
They also seized counterfeit currency notes having a face value of over Rs 6.9 lakh.
Sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force (south zone) Team, apprehended Mohd Ghouse and Mohd Arif, besides two juveniles who delivered fake currency of Rs 6,97,500 to them which was brought from West Bengal. The currency was in the denominations of Rs 1000 and Rs 500, said Task Force additional deputy commissioner of police N Koti Reddy.

Ghouse, a fruit vendor, was involved in a string of counterfeit currency cases in the past and had been arrested in 2014, police said.
While in jail, he met offenders involved in counterfeit currency cases, collected contact numbers of fake currency suppliers Imamul Haq and Talib of Malda district of West Bengal, they said.
Recently Ghouse ordered for delivery of fake currency from Imamul and Talib, who sent it through the minors for delivery in Hyderabad.
Ghouse was held along with Mohd Arif, a cane furniture worker, when they were receiving the fake currency notes from the delivery boys this morning, Reddy said.
He said efforts are on to trace Haq and Talib, who are absconding, and to identify the source of printing and circulation of the fake currency.
"The seized fake currency seems to be of high quality and suspected to be printed in Malda," Reddy said.
