The Uttar Pradesh police today raided a fake gutka manufacturing unit in Juhi Lal colony here and arrested one person.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the house of Kamal Dikshit last night, from where he manufactured fake gutka and supplied it in packets to other districts.
According a police spokesperson, duplicate gutka and paan masala of popular brands, empty packets, raw material and machines worth lakhs of rupees were also seized.
Confessing to police that he took orders from city-based businessmen, Dikshit said he only manufactured and supplied fake gutka while the raw material and machines were provided to him by his clients.
A case has been registered against Dikshit and further investigations are on, police said.
