Fire in bank destroys cash

Furniture,
computer sets, Rs 12,000 in cash and other articles inside Chiyanki branch of the State Bank of India in Palamau district was gutted, and transaction was stopped.
Branch manager N K Sinha said the fire broke out late last night in the branch possibly due to short circuit.

Local people informed the fire brigade after seeing the fire, but before the blaze could be doused, an amount of Rs 12,000 and various other articles were destroyed.
Sinha said it would take at least a week to resume transaction in the branch, which was temporarily shifted to Rehma branch for the convenience of the customers.
