The newly formed All India Fishermen Congress will look at ways to strengthen the voice of the fishing community in the country at its two-day national executive meeting which opened here today.
The front's first such meeting, held at the AICC headquarters here, is being attended by 60 people from across the country.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched the All India Fishermen Congress a few months ago to help bring the concerns of the community into the political mainstream.

The front has finalised its organisational structure by constituting its national executive committee and state committees in 26 states, an official statement said.
The meeting will look at activity reports from the states and the policies of the organisation, the statement added.
