Five given life imprisonment for murdering farmer

A court here sentenced five persons to life imprisonment for their role in the killing of a farmer three years ago.

Additional district and sessions judge A K Upadhyay convicted Islam, Jabir, Khalid, Rabin and Dhira and also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 each.

Shokin Ali was shot dead over land dispute in Jolla village in the district on August 7, 2012, assistant government counsel Yashpal Singh said.
