Five held for possessing fake currency in Hyd

Five persons were arrested here for allegedly possessing and circulating counterfeit currency having a face value of Rs 1.54 lakh.

The seized currency was in the denomination of Rs 500, stated a press release issued by the police department.

Original currency worth Rs 38,010 besides four mobile phones were also seized from the accused who were arrested yesterday at Falaknuma railway station.

They were produced before a local court today, the release added.
