Five held with contraband substance

Five persons were held with a consignment of contraband substance from a market on NH-2 in Bihar's Gaya district today, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, the police intercepted five persons at Sulebatta Bazar and seized 480 gram charas and Rs. 3.85 lakh in cash, Barachatti police station in-charge Vipin Kumar said.

Of the five arrested under the NDPS Act, a native of Uttar Pradesh's Gazipur district and his associate had come here to purchase contraband substance from the three suppliers who are all locals.
