Five killed a tractor-trolley collides with truck

Five persons were killed and 70 injured as a tractor-trolley collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 24 near Budhanpur village in the district, the police said today.

Many of the injured in the accident that took place late last night have been admitted to a government hospital in a critical condition.

Eighty villagers of Devapur village of Moradabad district were on their way to take a dip in Ganga River at Bridge Ghat in Amroha district on the occasion of 'pitr amavasya' when the accident took place, a police official said.

The victims were mainly women and children
 

The police official said that four women were killed on the spot while another succumbed to injuries in a hospital.
