Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and "La La Land" star Emma Stone led the fashion brigade at the Bafta awards red carpet with their dresses featuring floral patterns, a trend also spotted on Thandie Newton and Daisy Ridley.

For Britain's most prestigious film award show, Kate chose her favourite designer Alexander McQueen as she opted for an off-shoulder gown that was covered in a delicate floral pattern.

Stone wore a Chanel silver midi dress with flower motifs and a plunging neckline which she paired with coordinating trousers. She completed her unique look with shoes and one pearl anklet.

Thandie opted for a dramatic strapless gown with a floral applique on the torso.

"Star Wars" beauty Daisy wore a chic A-line skirt with a midi hemline adorned with flower patchwork detailing.

Eddie Redmayne's wife Hannah Bagshawe showed off her figure in a sheer pillar gown adorned with floral embroidery.

Julia Stiles opted for floral beaded grey gown with a deep plunging neckline.

Naomie Harris' dress was in sync with the floral trend on the red carpet as she sported a big flower belt on her dual coloured gown.

There were other celebrities, who stayed away from floral patterns.

Veteran Meryl Streep wore a trouser suit with a fringed black satin coat over tailored trousers.

Nicole Kidman turned heads in herglittering gown.

Amy Adams meanwhile opted loose-fitted embrald green gown which featured a bandeau neckline with a draped back and tie detail. She teamed it up with a pair of matching heels.

"Game Of Thrones" beauty Sophie Turner wore a plunging gown with a studded top paired with a silver chainmail skirt.
