Foreign flavour for NSCI Junior Squash

Top Indian colts and some foreign players have confirmed their participation in the Rs 5-lakh prize money NSCI Indian Classic Junior Open Squash Championship to be held here from July 19-24.

Three girls from Hong Kong - Ka Wing Ho (under-19), Tin Yan Lau and Sin Yuk Chan (under-15) are to feature in the girls' draw, while Mohd Imrul Hasan and Mohd Rafiquzzanman, both from Bangladesh, would be in action in the men's under-23 event.

Anay Sawant, an eight-year-old lad from Burlingame, California, would play in the in the boys' under-11 category, said a media release.

The championship, to be held at the National Sports Club of India's courts in Worli, is an SRFI 4-Star sanctioned and ASF Silver event.
 

Competition would be conducted for boys and girls in the under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, under-19 and under-23 categories.

The qualifying rounds would commence on July 19 and the main draw is to start from July 21.

The top eight ranked, registered players would be seeded directly in the main draw. The final is scheduled for July 24, the release added.
