In more trouble for suspended IAS officer Pradeep Sharma, the Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today filed a case of forgery against him here.
Additional Director General of Police, ACB, Samsher Singh said that Sharma's signatures on the passport and on notary certificate attached with bank account opening form were found to be different, therefore a case for forgery was registered.
Sharma was arrested by ACB earlier under the Prevention of Corruption Act for allegedly receiving Rs 29 lakh from a private firm in return for a land allotment at a concessional rate.
Sharma, who faces five corruption cases, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court alleging that he was being victimised by the Gujarat government, and sought CBI inquiry into the cases against him. However, last month the Supreme Court rejected his application.
