Delhi Police's Crime Branch has arrested a former BSF jawan in connection with the murder of a businessman from Hoshiarpur, a senior officer said today.

The accused, Sunil Kumar, 34, was arrested from near Chander Vihar in Vikaspuri and a sophisticated pistol with four live cartridges were recovered from his possession, Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.

The accused had four years back shot dead Rajender Singh, a money changer and lender in Hoshiyarpur, along with his associates. The murder was committed by the accused as the victim was allegedly harassing his sister and threatening their father to get her married to him, said the officer.

Sunil, who was serving with BSF, later returned to his unit but fled when local police reached to arrest him.

He had been working as mechanic in Delhi since then, said the officer.
