Former militant shot dead by suspected ultras

A former militant was today shot dead by suspected ultras in Kulgam district of Kashmir, police said.

45-year-old Manzoor Ahmad Palla, whose mother is a ruling PDP 'Panch', was shot at by suspected militants at village Batpora this evening, a police officer said.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared 'brought dead', the officer said.

Palla was a surrendered militant of Al-Jehad outfit and was now working as a carpenter, the officer said.

Police has registered a case and started investigations to nab the culprits behind the killing, he said.
