Four fisherwomen drown in AP

Four fisherwomen drowned in a rivulet near sea in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh today.

The mishap occurred near Navparthi village under Ongole Taluk police station area at around 10 am when a group of fisherwomen went for fishing in the rivulet, they said.

The women, who had tied ropes to themselves, got trapped in the very fishing nets they had cast, police said, adding all the four bodies were fished at around 4 pm.

The deceased were identified as K Muthyalamma, K Polamma, K Nagmma and Ch Polamma, police said.
