Four killed in clash over land dispute in Raj

Four persons were killed and seven others injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute in Dangawas village of Nagaur district, police said today.

The incident occurred near Merta town yesterday when two persons, Kanaram Jat and Ratna Ram Meghwal, and their supporters armed with sharp-edged weapons and guns, clashed with each other, said SHO, Merta city police station, Nagaram.

The SHO said the cause of dispute was a land which was in Ratna Ram's possession while Kanaram also staked a claim on it.

Ratna Ram, Pokar Ram and Rampal died on the spot while Pancha Ram succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Ajmer. Rampal died of a bullet wound while others were injured by sharp-edged weapons, he said.
 

Seven other persons, including four women, have been admitted to the hospital in Ajmer.

A case has been registered against 12 persons for murder, he said, adding, no arrests has been made so far.
