A 38-year-old paddy merchant and three members of his family allegedly committed suicide in their house at Kaivallitheru in the district, police said today.
Neighbours grew suspicious on noticing the door closed for a long time this morning and peeked through the window and found the bodies of Babu, his wife Kavitha (33), and two daughters Keerthi and Keerthana in the house, they said.
While babu was seen hanging from the ceiling, the bodies of other family members were found on the floor.
Police suspect the family to have taken the extreme step owing to losses suffered in business or debt problem.
