Freight rates for some places up on pickup in cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section hardened by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following pick up in cargo movements amid shortage of trucks in the markets.

Transporters said increased cargo movements against tight position of trucks, mostly pushed a few centres freight rates.

Delhi to Puducherry and Kochi freight rates were up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 66,000 and Rs 71,000.

Rates to Jaipur, Ludhiana and Kolkata also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 15,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 29,000.
