Freight rates select southern regions up

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select southern regions surged by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on increased cargo movements against availability of trucks.

Transporters said besides increased cargo movements, tight availability of trucks mainly pushed up select southern region freight rates.

Delhi to Chennai, Mysore and Coimbatore freight rates climbed by Rs 1,000 each to 65,000, Rs 66,000 and 72,000 respectively.
