CPI today demanded that Union government should constitute a high-level technical expert committee to probe into the gas pipeline fire at Nagaram village in East Godavari district.

National Executive Committee member of CPI, K Narayana, told reporters that it must be probed whether it was "an external sabotage" by a rival company or negligence by the GAIL staff which caused the fire.
