Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired two rockets at southern Israel today, causing no injuries or damages, the army said.

A statement from the military noted the rockets were aimed at the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.

"One rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome Missile Defence System above the city of Ashkelon," noted the statement.

Yesterday, Gaza militants fired a mortar shell into southern Israel that caused no casualties or damage.

A military spokeswoman told AFP that since the start of 2013, militants in the Islamist Hamas-ruled Palestinian enclave fired 28 projectiles at southern Israel, with the Iron Dome system intercepting three of them.
