Girl commits suicide, jumps from 2nd floor

A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of her house in Chaitanyapuri area here, police said today.

Chandana, an intermediate second-year student at a private college, was suspected to have jumped from the second floor of her house around midnight yesterday, Saroornagar Police Station's inspector S Lingaiah said.

It came to notice when some sanitation workers spotted the body on the road.

The victim's father is a police official.

Police were yet to ascertain the reason behind the suicide. Further probe is on, Lingaiah said.
