Gold prices drifted 0.42 per cent lower to Rs 26,145 per 10 grams in futures market today as participants offloaded their positions in line with a weak global trend.
The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Muharram'.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in far-month February next year contract declined by Rs 110, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 26,145 per ten gram in business turnover of 48 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in December contract traded lower by Rs 90, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 25,987 per ten gram in 3,248 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators in tandem with a weak global trend mainly influenced gold prices at futures trade here.
Globally, gold was little changed at USD 1,166.20 an ounce in New York.
