Gold seized from two passengers at airport in Madurai

: Gold worth Rs 1.42 lakh was seized from two people who arrived at the airport here Thursday by a Sri Lankan Airlines flight from Colombo, directorate of Revenue Intelligence said.

Acting on inputs, the officials checked the baggage of the two people, hailing from Ramanathapuram, and the search revealed the yellow metal weighing 1.2 kg.

The duo has been detained for interrogation, the officials said.
