Fourteen kg of gold worth about Rs 3.66 crore was seized from a car by Revenue intelligence wing officials at nearby Kathimedu today.
The officials, acting on a tip off, intercepted the car at the town and seized the gold.
Three persons in the car were taken into custody for questioning.
The officials said they were ascertaining whether the gold was smuggled from Sri Lanka or any other country.
