Sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have seized 2.92 kgs of gold, valued at Rs 90.52 lakh from a passenger, who arrived here from Singapore.
Based on specific intelligence, DRI officials last night intercepted Ijaz Khan, hailing from Chennai, and found the gold kept hidden in a water cooler.
The gold was cut into small cuboid pieces of approximately 2x3x2 mm dimension, which were concealed in the compressor, an official release said.

The total weight of gold was 2,920 grams valued at Rs 90. 52 lakh, the release added.
The passenger is said to have told the DRI officials that he was to hand over the consignment to a stranger waiting outside the airport.
