The central government will be organising a country-wide promotion campaign starting October 2 to create awareness about the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana.
In Gujarat, the first MUDRA promotion campaign will be held on October 2 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar in the presence of Union minister Nitin Gadkari.
The Department of Financial Services of Ministry of Finance outlined the programme which will be organised by the State Level Bankers' Committee as well as related institutions.

"The camp will be organised with an aim to create awareness about easily available avenues of credit for entrepreneurs through Mudra Promotion Campaign so as to encourage more entrepreneurial activities.
"It will be held at three locations in Gujarat," said Milind Torawane, secretary, state finance department.
Schemes like Stand Up India, and other financial inclusion schemes and digital payment methods will also be promoted at the centres, he said.
Joint Secretary in Department of Expenditure, G C Murmu, said under Mudra Yojana, an entrepreneur can avail of easy loan of upto Rs 10 lakh for businesses.
"We want to reach out to more number of entrepreneurs so that they can know the scheme and can avail it in their entrepreneurial ventures.
"From October 2, we will launch the MUDRA promotion campaign across different cities in the country, and will hold the campaign at 50 centres," said Murmu.
As per convener of State Level Bankers' Association, Vikramaditya Singh Khichi, under the scheme, around Rs 6,000 crore loan was disbursed to 10.86 lakh beneficiaries in Gujarat during previous financial year, while during the current financial year, the target is to disburse Rs 7,700 crore loan to 11.04 lakh beneficiaries.
