The government today approved elevation of IAS official Rajeev Topno, working as Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to the Joint Secretary level.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the in situ (at existing place) elevation of Topno to the Joint Secretary level on the post of Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Topno is a 1996 batch IAS official of Gujarat cadre.
He was appointed PS to the Prime Minister in June this year and was then working at the level of Director in the Prime Minister's Office.
