Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government was committed to balanced development of the state.

Addressing the second general house meeting of HPCC, Singh said Himachal was the first state to launch subsidised ration scheme and wheat flour, rice, three pulses, two litres of edible oil and one kg salt were being provided every month to all ration card holders in the state.

"The motto of present Congress government is complete development and this was the main reason that people had reposed faith in Congress in the state," he said.

Reiterating that his government was committed to balanced development of the state, Singh said it would focus on less developed and backward areas.

Singh added that blood donation camps would be organised at state, district and block levels on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on August 20.
