The government is looking into the alleged irregularities by former chairman of the Coconut Development Board (CDB), Parliament was informed Tuesday.
"The former chairman, CDB, was prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre due to lack of devotion to duty, misconduct and various irregularities committed by him," Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
He said, "The matter is being dealt with as per the extant guidelines for the purpose."
To a query if any case was pending against the former CDB chairman, the minister said no such information is available with his ministry.
Asked if the government had conducted any enquiry prior to the appointment of the former chairman of CDB, he replied in negative, "No sir".
