West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said the state government will soon prepare a handbook of performing artists.
"We should prepare a handbook of all the artists who have performed in various art forms - be it music or films. This will give them an identity. The older generation will be present in the handbook alongside the new ones," Banerjee said at the Sangeet Mela here.
She said the handbook will contain database of artists of Rabindrasangeet, Lokgeet, Nazrul geeti, Baul singers, modern songs, classical etc.
