Grenade recovered in Assam

A hand grenade was today recovered from the house of a person in Rangia town of Assam's Kamrup district.

Dhrubajyoti Das, who was arrested in Guwahati on May 22 for allegedly stealing a vehicle, told police that he had hidden a hand grenade in his rented premises at Bhattapara of Rangia town, police said.

On raiding his house, police found the explosive hidden under a wooden plank.

Investigations were on to find if he had links with any militant outfit, they added.
