Kathudiadada Vasava, who his family claimed was 119 years old, died at Rozgat village in Narmada district of Gujarat due to age-related ailments.

Vasava's voter's ID card mentioned that he was born on January 1, 1895, and by his his own claim he had never skipped voting right from 1952 when the first general election was held, said his great-grandsone Ranchhod Vasava.

Vasava's family consists of 94 members; the first member of the fifth generation was born recently.

During the Lok Sabha polls this year, the district's returning officer had made Vasava 'brand ambassador' to encourage voting.

On April 30, he cast his vote along with over 50 members of his family.

Though his hearing capacity was largely intact, his eyesight was poor and he had suffered a spine injury in a fall two weeks ago, said Ranchod.
