Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta today slammed the AAP government over its alleged "failure" in opening the aam aadmi canteens in the city.
These canteens were aimed at providing subsidised food in public places, hospitals.
"It is highly regrettable that the aam aadmi canteens have not seen the light of the day during the last two years of AAP dispensation. Despite allocation of Rs 60 crore for the project, the promise still remains a distant dream," Gupta said.

Responding to Gupta's allegation, Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the Delhi government has recently opened one such canteen inside LNJP Hospital on a pilot basis.
"But like in the case of mohalla clinics, the BJP-led municipal corporations were not giving permission for opening of the canteens," Jain said.
The minister, who also heads the Public Works Department, alleged that the civic bodies have threatened to bring down the mohalla clinics that have been built on the Public Works Department's roads.
