Gurgaon court jails man for 5 years for snatching mobile phone

A Gurgaon court has sentenced a man to five year in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him for snatching a mobile phone last year, a lawyer said today.

District and Sessions Judge R K Sondhi yesterday awarded the jail term to Nand Kishore, a resident of Sohna.

Anurag Hooda, the prosecution lawyer, said the snatching incident happened on July 4 last year.

Following investigation, police arrested Nand Kishore and his juvenile friend. Kishore was sent to jail, while his friend was sent to a correction home, the lawyer said.

During the hearing in the matter, Kishore was found guilty and was awarded the five-year jail term.

 

The Juvenile Justice Board is trying Kishore's friend.
