A sneak peak into arrested hacker Amit Vikram Tiwari's computer has given CBI a glimpse into his global customer base, prompting the agency to prepare a judicial request which is to be sent to the US.

"We were startled to find his widespread clientele which is located in a number of countries. We cannot yet reveal the identities (of the clients) as it would hamper the probe, but certainly, we will be sending Letters Rogatory (LR) to the US," a senior CBI officer said.

Sources said that CBI has completed the questioning of Tiwari following which it has come to light that he was negotiating with a number of influential personalities who wanted to enlist his services for cracking open the email accounts of their rivals, wives, girlfriends, among others.

They said Tiwari proudly told the investigators during questioning that he was the best computer hacker in the country.

The sources said that CBI had managed to unlock his laptop to find that Tiwari had clients based in the US. They added that the forensic analysis was on with some of the best brains in the agency working to crack open all the hidden data.

"The forensic analysis is still on and we will be getting details of customers and their locations based on which we would certainly be sending judicial requests to other countries as well.

"But as of now, we have finalised the LR for the US," the officer said.

CBI had arrested Tiwari, the son of a senior army officer, in the last week of January for alleged violation of the Information Technology Act as part of co-ordinated searches carried out by different agencies across the globe. The crackdown was triggered by an input from the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation.
