Protesting against police action on the people at the nearby Vadakara in Kozhikode district, a 12-hour hartal call has been given by the Deesiyapatha Karma Samithi (Action Council) in two taluks of Vadakara and Koilandy, tomorrow.
According to a leader of the Action Council, police had lathi charged agitators including women and children, when they protested against the survey being conducted by the National highway Development officials at Moorad about four kms away from Vadakara.
A commotion ensued after police tried to arrest the agitators forcefully.
Meanwhile, an agitator was injured after a melee between and police. The victim, Narayanan had been taken to a hospital.
