Haryana Assembly to hold seminar on June 30

On the initiative of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kanwar Pal, a seminar on significance of Vidhan Sabha Committees will be organised here on June 30.

Stating this here today, Secretary, Vidhan Sabha, V S Chaudhary said that the seminar would be inaugurated by the Leader of the House, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and it would be conducted in two sessions.

He said that Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala would preside over the first session, whereas, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would preside over the second session.

Chaudhary said that the aim of the seminar is to apprise the newly elected MLAs about the importance of Vidhan Sabha and develop an understanding to work with compassion after becoming a member of Vidhan Sabha Committee.
 

The members of the committees would get an opportunity to visit Vidhan Sabha of other states and would also get information about functioning of Vidhan Sabhas of other states.

He said that in the first session of the seminar, discussions would be held on Public Accounts Committee, Public Sector Undertakings of respective Committee, Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions related Committee and Petition Committee.

In the second session, discussions would be held on Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Committee for the welfare of Backward Classes, Subordinate Legislation Committee, and Committee for government assurances and various topics related to the committee, he added.
