Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today laid stress on the requirement of timely justice for the common man while underlining the need for reducing the number of pending cases in the courts.

Hooda was speaking at the inauguration of the District Court Complex and Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre at Palwal today, according to an official release.

Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice SK Kaul, too, was present on the occasion.

"The state government has taken all possible measures to increase the efficiency of the courts and ensure timely justice for the people," Hooda said, adding that Haryana was one of the leading states in the country when it came to having an effective judicial system.

Sufficient funds have been provided to create the infrastructure necessary to have a well-oiled judicial apparatus, Hooda said.

In the past few years, modern judicial complexes have been set up in 19 of the 21 districts in the state while work on a similar centre in Mewat was in progress, he added.
