Punjab and Haryana Governor and UT Administrator Kaptan Singh Solanki today paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 67th death anniversary and to all the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country at the War Memorial here.
On the occasion of death anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Martyrs' Day was celebrated across Punjab and Haryana.
On the occasion, Armed Forces Personnel also paid tributes to the martyrs.
Two minutes silence was also observed in the memory of the martyrs.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen K J Singh, other Armed Forces officials, Ex-army officers and general public also paid tributes to the martyrs, an official spokesman said.
Students of Army Public School sung patriotic songs on the occasion.
