The Kerala High Court today pulled up the state police for its laxity in tracing four missing girls in spite of considerable time having elapsed.
A division Bench comprising Justices Antony Dominic and P D Rajan expressed displeasure in the probe to Director General of Police K S Balasubramanian, who was present court.
The court passed the remarks while hearing a batch of habeas corpus petitions filed by the parents, complaining of police not taking any action for a long time.

Earlier, the court had directed the police to find out the whereabouts of the missing girls. However, even after several adjournments, police could not provide a satisfactory explanation about the missing girls.
The court said if the probe goes this way, it could be taken that Kerala Police are unable to find the missing children.
The state informed the court that special police units have been functioning in all districts to trace missing persons, especially girls, women and children.
The court then posted the case to July 17.
