The Allahabad High Court today set aside an amended advertisement issued by UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board for the post of sub-inspectors and directed that the candidates securing 50 per cent marks be considered for next stage of the selection process.
Justice Sudhir Agrawal passed the order on the writ petition of Sanjeev Kumar Gautam and others who had challenged the advertisement dated November 24, 2011, relating to recruitment of sub-inspectors of police or Platoon Commanders of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC).
The petitioners had contended that earlier on May 19, 2011, the Board had issued an advertisement wherein it was said that only an aggregate score of 50 per cent marks would be required to qualify for the next stage.
