Delhi Police's special cell has seized 10 kg heroin worth Rs 40 crore in the international market and apprehended three persons, including two nationals of Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, officials said on Monday.

Those held have been identified as Romuald Koffi (42) and Koffi N'Dri Pierre (34), both from Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, and Kaka Singh (26), they said.

While Singh was nabbed with 4 kg heroin near Mukarba Chowk on Friday, Koffi and Pierre, in possession of 6 kg heroin, were apprehended at Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar on Sunday, said PS Kushwah, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).

Singh used to receive heroin from some African origin people staying in Delhi and then supply it in Delhi and Punjab, the officer said.

He said, Koffi and Pierre revealed during interrogation that they used to procure the contraband from Afghan nationals in the city.

The duo also disclosed they used to supply the contraband to other countries like France, Italy, Canada, UK and UAE through courier companies, the DCP said.

Singh had earlier been arrested in cases of bootlegging and drug peddling in Punjab. He came in contact with Romuald in Delhi, the officer said.

Romuald has been frequently visiting India during the last two years. He arrived in India this month on a six-month tourist visa, the DCP said.

An investigation is underway and efforts are on to identify and arrest their other accomplices, the officer said.
