Darjeeling : Several rallies and protest marches held in various parts of Darjeeling as the indefinite strike in the hills demanding a separate state entered its 26th day.

Patna : The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) says, "there was no question" of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav's resignation in the wake of his name appearing in the CBI FIR in the land-for-hotel case.
 

CES 1 MN-LANDSLIDES

Imphal : Landslides, triggered by torrential rains in Manipur, have severely affected transport links to the landlocked state with buses and goods and fuel carriers stranded on national highways.

CES 6 TR-BLOCKADE-INPT

Agartala : The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) leaders and supporters blocks the Assam-Agartala national highway (NH) and railway tracks at Khamthingbari in West Tripura district, to demand for a separate state for the tribal people.

Kolkata : Trinamool Congress minister and Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) mayor Sovan Chatterjee fails to appear before the Enforcement Directorate which had summoned him in connection with the Narada tapes case.

CES 8 AR-FLOOD

Itanagar : Incessant rains for the past three days have triggered landslides and flash floods in various parts of Arunachal Pradesh, and claimed at least one life, officials said.

Kolkata : Nobel laureate Amartya Sen expresses concern over the communal riot in Basirhat and said it has to be seen why it has happened in West Bengal which has a tradition of communal harmony.

CCM 4 BIZ-DARJEELING TEA

Kolkata : The Darjeeling tea industry is staring at a loss of Rs 250 crore due to the ongoing shutdown called by Gorkha Janmukti Morcha(GJM) which enters the 26th day.
