Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Governor Kalyan Singh today greeted people on the eve of Buddha Purnima and urged them to follow the path of love and non-violence shown by Gautam Buddha.
The Governor said that Lord Buddha preached love, social harmony and that his teachings were relevant even today.
The Chief Minister said that Buddha Purnima was a sacred festival and teachings of Lord Buddha were solely to liberate human beings from the misery and sufferings and help one to live a peaceful life.
He said that Buddha Purnima speaks of Buddha's enlightenment and his immeasurable life span wherein he devoted himself to lessen the sufferings of the people.
