A home guard was killed and another person injured today in alleged accidental firing by a constable here, the police said.
The incident took place this morning when rifle of constable Sanjay Yadav, who was on security duty at Rajkiya Vishesh Grih, accidentally fired and the bullet hit two persons, Superintendent of Police Somen Verma said.
Home guard Shivmuni Yadav and cleaning staff Sunil Rawat were injured.
While Shivmuni died on the spot, Rawat was rushed to a hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.
The constable has been detained.
