Honorary captain Bana Singh visited 'Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat' camp of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) here on Monday, a spokesman said.
Around 500 cadets from all over Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat were present at the camp.
The recipient of the nation's highest military award, the Param Vir Chakra, for leading a team which conquered the highest peak in the Siachen area of Ladakh in 1987, Singh stressed upon the mental and physical fitness of cadets and motivated them to become good citizens of India and join the Indian Army, the spokesman said.
Later, the retired army officer interacted with the cadets, he said.
