A 57-year-old staffer of state government-run Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital was caught red handed by the Lokayukta police here today while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.
The hospital's birth and death registration registrar M A Qureshi was arrested based on a complaint of Rahul Yadav (22), a resident of Hatod in the district, Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B S Parihar told PTI.
Rahul's father Mangilal Yadav (50) died during treatment at the hospital on June 25 last month after which he sought Mangilal's death certificate from the hospital, the police official said.

Qureshi demanded for a Rs 2,000 bribe from Rahul for issuing the death certificate after which the complainant contacted the Lokayukta police.
"We trapped him at MY hospital," the Lokayukta Police official said.
The accused has been booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on, the police official said.
