Hot morning in city, rains predicted towards evening

It was an extremely hot morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature settling at seven notches above normal even as the weatherman predicted heavy rain and thunderstorm towards the evening.

"The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 AM was 34.2 degrees Celsius, seven notches above normal while the humidity was 43 per cent," a MeT official said.

The weatherman has predicted a partly cloudy afternoon with possibility of rain and thunderstorm towards the evening.

Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 44.6 and 33.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
