HP govt making false promises, misleading youth: BJP MP

BJP MP from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur today alleged that the Himachal Pradesh government was making "false promises" and "misleading" the youth of the state.

"The State Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training Minister G S Bali has accepted that the state government has failed to provide unemployment allowance to the youth," he claimed in a release here.

Showing his support for unemployed youths in a December 24 rally of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi here, Bali had asked the state government to allot some funds under the unemployment allowance.

Over the years, the Congress government has become synonymous to "false promises" and it has "misled people for its own benefit", Thakur alleged.

"The state in the last four years has not witnessed any significant development and the government has failed to fulfil hopes of several educated unemployed youths," he alleged, adding the state had also promised an unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 per month.

The MP claimed that the government had "completely failed" to disburse any allowances for the unemployed educated youths.

"In fact, Bali has put forth a request to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to make unemployment allowance available as the Assembly polls are approaching," he said.

This proves that the Congress only cares about elections and their own interest, and public welfare is last on their priority list, Thakur alleged.

"The Congress government keeps mentioning some welfare schemes they have implemented for the youth. These schemes actually fall under the Centre funded PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana," he said, alleging that the state government was using central schemes to hide its shortcomings and failures.
